Thank you to all who helped contribute to the success of this year’s Fibre Art Festival and Sale at Covent Garden Market on November 17-19, 2017. This includes our guild members, other volunteers, the Covent Garden Market staff, and our lovely shoppers.
We look forward to seeing you again in November 2018.
GUEST ARTIST PROFILES 2017
HOBBY ACRES STAINED GLASS – Nancy Hannam
I always enjoyed doing crafts, knitting, pottery, quilting, but have been doing glass for four years and was hooked from the very first cut. Creating a piece is so rewarding — I can’t wait to see it all come together as a finished product. In my home studio I have made lots of personal pieces for family and friends and now enjoy creating several different stained glass pieces for sale, such as window art, candle holders, Christmas trees and stars.
“BEARSKIN RUGS” FOR CHILDREN – Paula Huegin
Here’s one of my Paula-Bears! She is my design and is hand-knitted, measuring approximately 2’ X 4.5’ and available in two colours – tan (as shown) and dark brown.
My grandson Emmett enjoys relaxing on his, and there’s plenty of room on the rug, to share with mom or dad!
ONE OF A KIND JEWELERY – Lesley Penwill
Lesley Penwill works with metals, including silver, copper and brass which she transforms by cutting, filing, wrapping and etching designs. Solder is used to add texture and depth while leaving them light. Beads and other embellishments are added. Her designs are all one of a kind originals.
