Description: In this workshop, we will use a classic three stranded crepe yarn structure as a starting point for yarn design. Spinners will learn to manipulate twist and direction to construct this beautiful, complex yarn structure. Join us for a fun day of spinning while we begin to explore the variations of crepe yarns – yarns fit for a princess!
Participant Requirements: Must be able to comfortably spin yarns and singles in both directions – this workshop is beyond a beginner level.
Equipment to bring:
- Wheel in good, working order with repair kit
- 3 to 4 empty bobbins + Lazy Kate (for making samples)
- Bring a few plied, handspun yarn (please assemble in balls or centre pull balls) – it’s ok if this yarn was spun/plied many years in the past and if you don’t remember the fibre(s)
- Hand carders and other usual items in your spinning basket
- Baggies, labels, markers, etc
Workshop is limited to 12 participants, please register early. This class has a minimum number of 8 participants to proceed. If this number is not reached we’ll let you know about a week before the start of class. You will be refunded your full registration.
***Cancellation Policy: Participants who cancel their registration up to 1 month prior to the start of the workshop will receive a full refund.
