Time: 6:30 – 8:30 pm

Worsted spinning is a specific spinning technique which creates a smooth, lustrous, drapey and strong yarn. Worsted and woollen spinning are the “key” techniques to good spinning. They are like knit and purl stitches are to knitting.

You will learn how to recognize a “worsted preparation” in commercial slivers and how to make a smooth roving from hand cards. You will learn to spin worsted with a double draft and short forward draw.

These are simple techniques for anyone who can spin a single thread. This class includes the worsted method of plying and finished yarns and best uses in knitting, crocheting, weaving and rug hooking.
