Introduction to Nal Binding

Description:  A Heritage fabric creation technique that pre-dates both knitting and crochet. Here is your chance to learn and to do a bit to protect this endangered craft.

In this class you will learn the history of Nalbinding, the tools and materials required, some simple stitches and begin a bag project. 

All materials for this class will be provided.  After you have learned the technique, it is a perfect use for your handspun yarns.

Cost: LDWS Members – $22, Non-Members – $25

Date: Sunday April 26, 2026 

Time: 1:00pm – 4:00pm

Location: 1731 Churchill Ave, London ON – East Lion’s Community Centre

Instructor:  Kim Taylor

Participant Requirements:  No experience necessary

Equipment to bring: all materials are provided

Material Cost:  The kit fee for this class is $15. 

LDWS workshops are open to all. If a participant is less than 18 years old, they are required to have a parent or guardian present at all times.

The workshop is limited to 6 participants, please register early.

This class has a minimum number of 3 participants to proceed. If this number is not reached we’ll let you know about a week before the start of class. You will be refunded your full registration.

***Cancellation Policy: Participants who cancel their registration up to 1 month prior to the start of the workshop will receive a full refund.  A participant who finds a replacement for his/her spot within 1 month prior to the start of the workshop will receive a full refund.  Cancellations within 1 month of workshops (with no replacement found) and “no-shows” will not be refunded.  If the Guild cancels a workshop for any reason, all registration fees will be refunded.
