In Memory of Deceased Guild Members
The LDWS has instituted two initiatives to keep the memory of distinguished deceased members evergreen.
The first is the development of a BOOK OF HONOUR in which deceased members are remembered who have contributed to the Guild and the wider world of fibre arts in one or more of the following ways:
Service on the Guild’s Executive Committee, auxiliary committees or other roles, such as archivist or librarian
- Contribution to Guild practice or knowledge through teaching or informal mentoring
- Service to the Guild through public outreach
- Publication, both traditional or electronic, of professional interest, directed to other fibre artists or groups
- Exceptional performance as a practitioner of fibre arts
A form for nomination of a deceased member for inclusion in the BOOK OF HONOUR is to be found here. Nominations can be made by Guild members at any time for consideration by the Executive Committee.
The second is the establishment of an educational bursary fund, available to members in order to enrich their skills and knowledge. The intent is for recipients to bring back the knowledge gained to the Guild in order to stimulate a new level of professional attainment among Guild members. Bursary application form
